UNLEARNING: THE FIRST STEP TO SELF LOVE

WHAT DO YOU MEAN UNLEARN ?

When I’m saying unlearn – I am referring  to the toxic beliefs and ideas you have around yourself, self love and success. The society has managed to create ideas in our minds just so they can profit off it and even though these ideas are ridiculous, nobody seems to doubt them because well, that’s  what he have known since forever… 

SOME TOXIC BELIEFS I’M  TALKING ABOUT – 

1.BELIEFS ABOUT SELF- WORTH 

  • I’m only worthy if I achieve something  
  • I am worthy of someone’s  love or friendship only if I’m  resourceful and useful to them. 

My worth depends on how much others value me or perceive me as . 

2. ABOUT LOVE AND RELATIONSHIPS 

If someone leaves me or doesn’t  like me back, it means I wasn’t  enough. 

They don’t  like me because I’m  not likeable due to so and so reason and it is my problem. 

I shouldn’t  to this- what if I’m being too much? ( by just doing what come to me naturally)

3. BELIEFS ENGRAVED IN YOUR BRAIN SINCE CHILDHOOD 

Having  emotions or expressing them is a sign of weakness. 

I cannot say no, it’s  rude and impolite. 

My needs are least deserving of my own time , energy and attention, 

I must make everyone aound me happy and be selfless all the time even if I’m not comfortable doing that.( talk to you later you pEoPlE PLEASERR!)

4.  ABOUT IDENTITY AND PERSONALITY 

  • I am what people expect me to be . ( this was personally frustrating to me for years becaue I kept trying to prove to people that this[ their perception of me] wasn’t  the whole real me as they thought it was.) 

If I change or do something that I normally wouldn’t  do, I’m being fake . 

5. A GEMS BALL OF VARIOUS BELIEFS 

  • Success is only what I achieve in my career and finances. 
  • I will never be able to do that. I come from this background or history so I can never dream big or achieve this or live like that. 

I’m not supposed to be happy and satisfied until everything is fine and perfectly fixed. I deserve happiness only after success and perfection. 

BUT WHY UNLEARN ALL THAT? WHAT WILL I GAIN FROM IT? 

These are a few beliefs which naturally come to us as they have  been embedded in our brains gradually without us even realising that we hold these beliefs. They might’ve  actually been useful to you at a point of time but now they just sit and rot in your mind- preventing you from leading a happy, satisfied life  with lots of abundance and self love. 

HOW EXACTLY AM I SUPPOSED TO UNLEARN THESE BELIEFS? 

Here is where I come into play darling, I’m the one who’ll  help to throw these trashy beliefs out of your head and prepare  you to reach to your full potential. 

As stated by the  renowned psychologist  Abraham Maslow in his model of “Hierarchy of Needs” , self – actualization ( the desire to become the most authentic and fulfilled version of yourself) is at the top of the model. 

It is at the top because it brings inner fulfilment not just external validation. 

AND how I will help you redefine your beliefs is by giving logical reasons as to why THESE  beliefs aren’t  logical , I will contradict all these negative beliefs with positive ones and that is going to be my main motive for the upcoming blog/s.
